Learn more about Google’s coders

Have you ever wondered what skills (apart from coding!) an engineer needs to develop and use on a daily basis? And why is it so important, in today’s world, to know how to code? Hear more from our Google engineers and be inspired to develop your logical thinking skills and to learn to code!

Meet some of Google’s coders

Have you ever wondered what a computer scientist does all day long? Do you know how many different type of software engineering jobs there are? We sat down with some of our engineers and asked them to tell us about their jobs, what they like best about working at Google and why they love playing with technology every day.

So, take a break from practising your code for two and a half minutes, sit back and enjoy!

Practice Round 4

The Call to Code contest on 25th November is now only a few weeks away. Don’t worry, we still have three practice challenges remaining to give students plenty of time to develop their skills and confidence before the big day. Registered students can log in to their Dashboard anytime between 09:00am GMT on Wednesday 4th November and 09:00am GMT on Thursday 5th November. During this time, students will have 2 hours to answer the coding puzzles and challenges that our team of Google engineers have set. Once the practice round is over, we will publish the answers and every participating student will be able to see their score.

Happy coding!

We all know that technology is shaping our lives. But the Europe Code Week team reckon that we're letting a minority decide what and how we use it for. We can do better than just sharing and liking stuff. We can bring our crazy ideas to life, build things that will bring joy to others. It's never been easier to make your own app, build your own robot, or invent flying cars, why not! It's not an easy journey, but it's a journey full of creative challenges, a supportive community, and tons of fun. Are you ready to accept the challenge and become a maker? Make sure you check out coding events near you and join them.
